LaTonya has over 20 years of combined consulting and internal HR Executive experience. She has directly worked for employers ranging from divisions of large publicly owned corporations to small entrepreneurial enterprises. She has also worked in both the private and public sector as an HR Leader.
Her undergraduate degree is in journalism from Texas A&M University and her Master's Degree is in Adult Education and Human Resource Development Leadership from The University of Texas at Austin. She has also completed all but her dissertation towards her Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Planning.
LaTonya's national certifications include Certified Compensation Professional and a Global Remuneration Professional by World at Work and Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society of Human Resource Management. She also has a Mediator Certification from the University of Texas Conflict Resolution Center.
LaTonya’s experience encompasses almost every aspect of Human Resources. Some of the projects she has managed include the following:
Implementation
of HR modules in corporate enterprise systems as well as research, selection and
implementation of HRIS and related HR systems.
Development
of compensation systems including base compensation systems, performance
management, sales compensation, goal-based compensation, skill-based pay and
specialized rewards.
Design
of business focused, low administrative impact HR delivery processes.
Development
and delivery of training in communications, entry level desktop systems, HR
Basics for Supervisors, Customer Service Skills, and many other topics.
Design
of employee benefits plans including selection of offerings and vendors as well
as negotiation with TPA’s and service providers.
Liaison
with union leaders in both public and private sector organizations.
Producing,
administering and updating comprehensive employment policies, procedures, tools
and systems to increase consistency and guide management and executive decision
making and implementation.
Coaching
and advising all levels of organizational leadership regarding employment
regulations, conflict resolution, change management, and overall best HR
practices.
