Dennis is nationally certified with the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHRÒ) designation by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and brings a 20-year record of successful program design, development and delivery across a wide range of Human Resource and Organizational development specialties, in competitive business, hospitality, higher education and non-profit organizations.

Dennis uses his expertise in workforce planning, program development and adult learning (M.A., Adult Education/Training, SFSU, 2004) to provide workforce planning (recruitment/classification/compensation), organizational development and training services and programs that focus on the business needs of organizations.

As the former Workforce Planning Manager at San Jose State University, Programs Manager for Goodwill Industries of the Greater East Bay in Oakland, CA, and most recently at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Dennis revised recruitment and created training programs in Leadership & Management; Communication; Team Development; Diversity and Inclusion; Project Management; and more.

In his 20 years in the HR and learning field, Dennis has worked with hundreds of managers and non-managers alike, crafting programs to meet the needs of the business. Widely read in the areas of Organizational Development and Human Resources management, Dennis was instrumental in creating and/or implementing:

  • A Classification and compensation structure for SJSU, based on the negotiated agreements between various CSU unions and the CSU Chancellor’s office.
  • An upgraded recruitment process at SJSU to include a more predictable scheduling and position evaluation process; clearer role assignment between the Recruiters and the Department HR contacts; and stronger communication.
  • New Hire Orientation and On-boarding protocols for several large organizations.
  • Employee Support and Development protocols to replace annual performance evaluations with more effective one-on-one performance conversations.
  • Management and employee professional development programs that focused on success behaviors and outcomes in all of the areas listed above.
