Investigation

TPO is licensed by the State of California (PI-25638) to provide investigative services. Workplace investigations can be tricky. We offer years of experience, judgment and credentials – combined with the latest technology – to client investigations including alleged harassment, discrimination, malfeasance, employee background investigations, and more. As risk management and loss prevention specialists, we investigate and analyze root causes, patterns and trends to reduce exposure and liability – and then recommend corrective actions. We will conduct an hr investigation for you, and assist you with how to handle the issues that exist, if any.

Some of our most requested Risk Management Services Include:

HR Investigations

  • Harassment
  • Theft

Pre-employment Background Checks (see below for details and to download forms)

Brian Pratt our Director of Investigative Services does both an electronic record search of all databases as well as a physical record search at the courthouse for criminal and civil background along with DMV and Degree verification. The cost is $250.

A credit check is also available (no extra charge) but is limited to the 8 specific allowances as indicated on the intake form, with the employer checking those that apply for the specific job. As a reminder, employment eligibility credit checks do NOT contain a credit score, rather the employer looks at the information to determine job relatedness (default on loans, etc.)

For TPO to conduct a background check, with or without credit, the following documentation will be needed at time of request:

Background with OUT credit Check

  1. Background Check Intake Form (completed by employer)
  2. Employment Application (completed by applicant)
  3. Background Release (completed by applicant)
  4. Background Summary of Rights (provide to applicant for their records)
  5. Resume and/or Employment History Form (if no resume is available)

Background with CREDIT Check

  1. Background Check Intake Form (completed by employer)
  2. Employment Application (completed by applicant)
  3. Background Release (completed by applicant)
  4. Background Summary of Rights (provide to applicant for their records)
  5. Resume and/or Employment History Form (if no resume is available)
  6. AB-22 Employer Credit Report Certification (completed by employer with applicable allowances checked)

All backgrounds are processed within a twenty-four-hour period, and normally take 3-4 business days for final report to be returned. There are times when a background with credit check can take more than the normal 3-4 business day turn around, this depends on how fast the credit report is returned.

To get started, please download all necessary background release forms listed above, scan/e-mail to Amber Allerton – Operations Manager at ambera@tpohr.com the background check release (signed by applicant), employment application (completed by applicant), and resume (or Employment History Form) and Amber will take it from there!

If you have any question, please contact Amber Allerton at 831.647.7292.
